Week 8 in Literature
I cannot believe this class is already at the end. I can say that I enjoyed this class. All of the readings were new to me. My favorite author out of the ones we were assigned was William Blake. Since he was my favorite, he was the one I chose to do my team project over. I did enjoy the team project. I had a great team, and we all did our part. I know that is something everyone dreads when you have to do a team project, but not this team. We all stepped right in and did what we needed to. I will stop bragging about my team now. I will say that taking an 8 week class as a full time student who works a full time job is very tough. Even when three of my four classes are online classes.

Week 7 in Literature
This week I had to read "Mrs. Dalloway" by Virginia Woolf. I will start off say that I liked the book, but it did have its ups and downs. I did like that it was a novel that told a story of an event that happened in a day. I have never read a book like that before. But since it was told this way there were no chapters. I felt like since there were no chapters it was a little hard to follow. The reason for this is because the reader reads the book from different characters views, so it is a little challenging to tell what character is telling the story. I will say that this method of writing does help the reader to get to know each character.

Week 6 in Literature
I found the poems this week harder to understand. I had to read over them a couple of time to get what they we saying. I even had to listen to an audio of each to make sure I understood it by hearing it read by someone else. Out of the four reading assignments this week, I do not think I have a favorite. The reason I did not have a favorite is because they were hard for me to understand which blocked me from getting into the poem or story. They were all good in different ways.
Also, I am starting my web page this week for my team project. I am doing my web page over William Blake. I am very excited to get this finished, because I enjoying doing these kinds of things. I have a great team, too.

Week 5 in Literature
I can and will say that I did enjoy this weeks readings very much. My favorite was the poem "In an Artist's Studio" by Christina Rossetti. I also did Essay 2 on this poem. I thought it was a beautiful poem. Michael (the man in the poem), Rossetti's brother, shows his love for a woman by doing pieces of art of her all over his studio. The woman's face is the only face to be seen on the canvas. It was a great example of how the Victorian Age is about self-definition.
I also enjoyed the story "Great Expectations" by Charles Dickens. I did have to listen to the audio of the book to get a better understanding of it. The audio did help a lot, and I was able to understand what was going on in the story.

Week 4 in Literature
Wow! I am half way there! I cannot believe it is already week four in this eight week Literature class. I did enjoy this weeks readings. One thing I will say is that I did find it a little harder to understand. The reason I found it harder to understand is because I like the Romantic Age better than the Victorian Age. Now, just because it was harder for me to understand does not mean they were not good poems. They were good after I read them a couple of times to really figure out what they were saying. I did enjoy seeing and reading Alfred, Lord Tennyson's work. I have always thought of his work as a classic.

Week 3 in Literature
Wow! I cannot believe it is already week 3 in this class. Only 5 more weeks to go. I am not sure if I am the only one, but full time college is very overwhelming with a full time job. This weeks reading on "Frankenstein" by Mary Shelly was good. There were parts were I did have to go back and read the chapter again, because I did not pick up on an important fact to help me understand what was going on. I find it interesting that Victor's curiosity made him create a monster. I know that was not Victor's intention when creating the story. As one of my classmates wondered if Victor would have shown love to the monster if he would have been different. I think he would have, but that is just my thought. Showing love to someone can change the outcome of things.
I am ready to read the other two books that we are required to read in this class!

Week 2 in Literature
I did enjoy this weeks reading assignments. I will have to admit that they were a little challenging to read and understand. After reading some of the discussion post, I am not the only one that thought that. In a way I am glad that I am not the only one, because it is already hard for me to understand poems the first time I read them. If I had to choose which poem I liked the best, it would have to be "Ode to a Nightingale" by John Keats. I think it was my favorite out of the three, because it was the easiest for me to understand. Now, when I say easiest, I mean after a couple of time of reading it through it was the easiest. I liked how a poet was compared to a nightingale, and the freedoms they both have to express their thoughts. A poets poem lives on even after the poet is no longer living.
