Week 5 in Literature

I can and will say that I did enjoy this weeks readings very much. My favorite was the poem "In an Artist's Studio" by Christina Rossetti. I also did Essay 2 on this poem. I thought it was a beautiful poem. Michael (the man in the poem), Rossetti's brother, shows his love for a woman by doing pieces of art of her all over his studio. The woman's face is the only face to be seen on the canvas. It was a great example of how the Victorian Age is about self-definition.

I also enjoyed the story "Great Expectations" by Charles Dickens. I did have to listen to the audio of the book to get a better understanding of it. The audio did help a lot, and I was able to understand what was going on in the story.
